Mbu insists 'My men will kill in self defence', says number killed is immaterial

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2, Lagos, Joseph Mbu in an interview with newsmen in Ogun state last Friday said he stands by his earlier statement that the police will kill 20 for each police life lost during the election, insisting his men will kill in self defense.

According to Punch, AIG Mbu reiterated his position to newsmen at the commissioning of the Olorunsogo 11 power station in Ogun state by President Jonathan last Friday
“I still stand by what I said. And what I said is very clear: that if any violent group attacks my policemen, my policemen should attack them violently. If any violent group attacks a law-abiding citizen in a bid to cause injury or cause harm, the police should repel and save that law-abiding citizen because we have the powers to do so. If hoodlums or touts decide to be lawless; carrying knives, carrying illegal firearms and shooting at my policemen, if they shoot at my policemen and they are a hundred or 200, my policemen will not be looking at them. They will reply back in self-defence. The number I kill is immaterial because a policeman is also a human being" he said.

Japan to make couples go on compulsory vacations...to have more sex

Lol. Interesting development in Japan. The country's government wants to make it compulsory for married couples to go on more vacations - so they can have more sex...but there's a good explanation for this. The country has a low population growth. They say they are suffering from acute baby shortage. Only about 1million babies were born in Japan in 2014, the lowest figure on record for the country. Japan's health ministry also said that about 1,269,000 people died in 2014, indicating a natural population decline of 268,000. So basically, they were more people who died than were born. The country says its shrinking population is affecting their economy & want to do something about it.

The government figured couples are too busy hustling they don't have sex. So Parliament is now debating compulsory vacation for couples so they can have more sex and make more babies.

Will Giving College Women Guns End Sexual Assault On Campus?

According to Nevada Assemblywoman Michele Fiore, the only thing “young, hot little girls” on college campuses need to do to prevent rape is carry a gun. Fiore, who has sponsored a bill that would allow guns on college campuses in her state, was quoted in the New York Times yesterday saying that she believed the “sexual assaults that are occurring would go down once these sexual predators get a bullet in their head.”

It was Fiore’s incendiary comments that sparked backlash on Wednesday, including over atSlate, where Amanda Marcotte argues that this is a case of pro-gun advocates “hijacking the issue of campus sexual assault to advocate for the long-standing goal of getting more colleges to allow guns on campus.”
The pro-gun advocate’s argument is simple: Women on college campuses would be protected from rapists or the threat of being raped if they carried a gun. But, as Tara Culp-Ressler points out for ThinkProgress, this is just “one of many ways that women are told to take steps toprevent their own rapes.”
Culp-Ressler also brings up several other important points of concern:
University presidentscollege students, and domestic violence experts are all opposed to the idea of allowing concealed weapons on school grounds. They point out that it’s an ineffective policy because of the nature of campus violence; most assaults take place under the influence of alcohol, and the majority don’t occur between strangers.” In fact, 2/3 of assaults arecommitted by someone the victim knows
John D. Foubert, an Oklahoma State University professor and national president of One in Four, also echoed his concerns to the New York Times. Because a “rape situation usually starts with some sort of consensual behavior…by the time it switches to nonconsensual,” Foubert says it would be “nearly impossible to run for a gun.”
So before we take up arms, let’s consider some reasonable alternatives.
  • Educating the Public on Sexual Assault

    BRITAIN-WOMENS-DAYGetty
This isn’t the first time a bill like Fiore’s has been introduced, nor is it the first time people have spoken out about the need to arm college students. In 2013, ThinkProgress quoted two Indiana University officials who spoke out against these measures, saying education “about rape culture on college campuses could actually be a more powerful tool than a gun.” The officials argued that the students who “know what constitutes sexual assault and the circumstances in which it usually happens are the ones who have a better chance of protecting themselves.” By educating our youth on what consent is, we can help them recognize when a situation has the potential to turn dangerous.
  • Promote Bystander Intervention

As NPR reports, having a friend or group of friends that support violence against women is a “big risk factor for committing sexual assault.” Because, as Foubert explains, what other men think “matters most to boys and emerging adult men,” it’s important we teach children about violence prevention from a young age. The more children and young adults we educate, the more active and ready bystanders we’ll see on college campuses.

This Girl With One Arm Absolutely Kills ‘No Hands’ Dance: Watch

Teen wows a veteran Hollywood choreographer.
A 15-year-old girl with one arm got in front of a huge dance class to perform to a remix of Waka Flocka Flame‘s “No Hands,” and while that song choice might seem like a cruel joke at first, the teenager absolutely destroyed it, like she was in a “Step Up” movie.
Lexi Daniels, who asks “Who needs two arms?” in her Instagram bio, was born without a right hand, her right arm ending just after the elbow. But that has only made her work harder to become a dancer, and it’s clearly paying off, as the Ohio teen wowed her peers at the JUMP Dance Convention in Pittsburgh.
The routine was led by professional dancer/choreographer Wildabeast Adams, who gushed about her performance in the video description: “Had to call this girl out and give her light and make her feel special, because she is.” Adams has worked with legends like Madonna andUsher, so that’s some high praise coming from him.

loyd Mayweather set to finally announce that Manny Pacquiao fight WILL happen

Floyd Mayweather will announce at his teasing convenience that the richest fight in boxing history will take place in Las Vegas on May 2.

All that remains of the long wait for the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world to take on the pretender to that mythical title, Manny Pacquiao, is for Money Mayweather to confirm that it’s on at last.

Mayweather and the Filipino Pac-Man are to be paid a combined purse of $250million for answering the public demand that they finally settle their five-year argument in the ring.

Mayweather preview.jpg

That cash-crazy neon desert Strip has lit up with electric expectation that Mayweather is ready to confirm what has long seemed inevitable.

The right to tell the world is one of his many stipulations in a contract to which all parties are reliably reported to have agreed after an eternity of wrangling.

The deal now done barring a seismic tantrum by Mayweather is also believed to include a rematch clause for a second $300m extravaganza back at the MGM grand in the autumn.

The minutiae of which gloves each combatant will wear, the Olympic standard drugs testing which Mayweather has long demanded and Pacquiao’s acquiescence to a smaller share of the fortune are all included.

The two major cable networks in America – Showtime, who hold a six-fight contract with Mayweather, and Pacquiao’s paymasters HBO – have settled for both broadcasting this extraordinary event.

And it remains a major spectacle, even though the world of boxing would have preferred that these two men in their mid-to-late 30s had got it on all these five years ago.

The precedent for two-channel transmission was set when Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis clashed in a heavyweight bonanza in June 2002.

The final sticking point – which of Showtime or HBO should have rights to the first replay broadcast a few days later – now appears to have been resolved.

The fee for the pay TV subscription in America is expected to be a record $100… or maybe $99.95 if they are feeling generous to the public! The cost for ringside tickets at the MGM Grand Garden Arena will sell at the order of $5000 apiece.

In expectation of the demand the hotels in Vegas have been hiking their room prices for that Mexico national celebration weekend in advance. Thousands of high-rollers, not just from south of the border and the US, but from around the world, have been booking in advance.

With even his lesser share of the booty, Pacquiao’s minimum $100m has been ample incentive for him to concede such trifles as Mayweather – who will receive $150m - taking the lead billing as well as both entering the ring and being acclaimed last by the ring announcer.

Although there were fears, justified or not, that Mayweather would prefer not to risk his unbeaten record against the Philippines congressman, who is still the biggest threat to that distinction, the offer seems to have proved too good to refuse.

From a British point of view, it’s an obvious disappointment for Amir Khan to miss out on fighting either one of them, but even he has admitted that he wants to see the fight.

The pair are likely to undertake a tour of some of the planet’s major capitals to help promote interest, and of course supplementary TV sales around the world, including Britain where Sky Sports, BT Sport and perhaps even BoxNation might find themselves in competition with, if not taxpayer funded BBC, then ITV, who could go for pay per view for the first time.

The boost for boxing in this modern communications world will be so huge that it could elevate the hard old game into a major sport on both sides of the Atlantic.

A worldwide of multiple millions, will, of course, spread out from the boxing enthusiasts across the full spectrum of society. The fun and games of all the negotiation and delays appears to be over. Let the blood sport begin.

The one remaining danger, perverse thought it may seem, is that Mayweather will be so enraged by this information leaking in America that he blows the deal and all those millions sky high.

Plan to test Indonesian schoolgirls for virginity scrapped after outcry

Local MP had proposed all girls had to be virgins in order to graduate from school

High-school girls in an Indonesian district will not be subjected to virginity tests in order to graduate, an official has insisted, after a lawmaker sparked an outcry by proposing the move. The MP in the Jember local parliament on the main island of Java, last week put forward a regulation on “good conduct” that included forcing female students to pass a virginity test before they can complete high school.

He argued that the move was aimed at tackling pre-marital sex in conservativeIndonesia, which has the world’s biggest Muslim population. But rights groups and Islamic authorities alike reacted furiously, prompting officials in Jember to swiftly distance themselves from the plan.Kusen Andalas, deputy head of the district, insisted Wednesday that the proposal would not go ahead: “I don’t think it is ethical to carry out such tests, it is against people’s rights.”The parliament’s deputy speaker, Ayub Junaidi, had already reportedly apologised for the comments and said no such bylaw would be enacted.Human Rights Watch deputy director for Asia, Phelim Kine, described the proposal as “appalling”, adding:

“The Indonesian government’s tolerance for this violence against women and girls needs to end.”The issue of virginity tests has caused controversy in Indonesia before. In 2013, the education chief of a city on western Sumatra island sparked outrageby suggesting that teenage schoolgirls should undergo virginity tests to enter senior high school.

The police faced criticism last year after a study said female applicants to the force were subjected to such examinations.

Is this the right way to prevent pre-marital sex among girls?
